2013 Owasippe Scout Reservation Leader Meetings

All Unit Leaders planning on attending Boy Scout Summer Camp and/or Webelos Camp should attend one of the meetings listed below. You can send an assistant leader or delegate if you are not available for one of these four dates. This is where you can meet the camp directors, hear about the exciting program opportunities and camp and get a head start on the 2013 camping season.

Long-term camping is important to a Scout’s growth and advancement. It delivers on the promise of Scouting that we make. Ensuring your Scouts have an opportunity for long-term camping each year is one of our most important roles.

“Camping is one of the best-known methods of the Scouting movement. When he founded the Scouting movement in the early 1900s, Robert Baden-Powell encouraged every Scout to learn the art of living out-of-doors. He believed a young person able to take care of himself while camping would have the confidence to meet life's other challenges, too.” – BSA, Camping Merit Badge Requirements Intro.
