January 2013 Dear Parent: The Chicago Area Council wishes to ensure that every youngster registered in the Chicago Area Council will have the opportunity to take part in the benefits of a Cub Scout, Boy Scout, or Venturer camp experience. We will consider any youth application for Cub Scout Day Camp or any Owasippe Scout Reservation program. Due to limited campership funds available, your Scouts and his or her Scouting unit must provide at least half of the camp fee. Factors that are considered include: Financial Need, participation in the Popcorn Sale and earning Camp Cash, participation in the camp card sale, and your unit’s participation in the annual Friends of Scouting Campaign. Procedures for applying for a campership are: - Verify that the Scout is currently registered and will be re-chartered in his/her unit.
- Complete the campership application form leaving no space blank; The form must be signed by a parent; incomplete forms will be returned.
- Submit the application form to:
Chicago Area Council Boy Scouts of America 1218 W. Adams Street Chicago, IL 60607 - Campership applications should be submitted by April 15, 2013. Decisions will be made by May 15, 2013. Only NEW SCOUT applications may be submitted after June 30th. When available funds are fully allocated, a waiting list will be maintained.
